Pit bikes don't adhere to the traditional Model Years like cars and full size bikes. Instead a production of Pit Bikes is usually more like a refrigerator. For example, when a bike like the SSR DX3 sells out, more are manufactured, whenever this happens. This keeps overhead low, but can lead to some confusion among buyers. If, however, too many DX3's had been produced in 2011, they will continue to sell throughout 2012. Eventually, when they have all been purchased, SSR may assemble a new batch. Although these would say 2012 on the steering stem, they would not be any different than the pervious batch. This is much unlike the traditional mentality with companies like Yamaha, Honda, Ford, GM, etc. A 2012 SSR 140 TX is the same bike as a 2011 SSR 140 TX. When SSR wants to innovate and overhaul, they introduce an entirely new model, just like refrigerators.
When you purchase your bike from TBoltUSA.com we will make sure to get you the newest unit that is available. If however your bike is stamped with a previous year that doesn't make it any less of a bike; The bikes are identifed by Model, not by Model Year.
