Absolute beast of an engine! This fit well in a 06’ CRF70 with no issues. Plenty of power and lots of torque compared to the stock engine, almost feels like a powerband from 1/2-3/4 throttle.

Ive had one of these in an old classic XL70 for quite a while now. I use it as a pit bike and run the guts out of it around the house and chasing my kids. I was skeptic at first but this thing has been awesome for more than 5 years now! Can't ask for anything more really? Most recently my maintenance was short, and the bike threw the chain and tore up the ignition. Not the bikes fault, but Tbolt has all the parts needed and at very fair prices. Im hooked on these for life. Once my youngest is ready we are gonna swap his XR 70 engine with one of these and I can't wait to see his eyes when he feels the power!

Motor is strong, could not get it running well with stock carb, switched it out for a 26mm, started right up. No tuning! Great product!

I bought this motor for a Chinese pitbike frame. This thing is a beast. I still have the stock carb on for now. It bogs a little from zero to half throttle if you really crank it. Once your past quarter your good to rip. It's got a ton of power. So much that it's eating my tubes faster than I can get a rim lock on. I weigh 230 or so and i tear it up on this thing. I smoked my friend on a crf 110. I have another frame sitting here and as soon as I save up some money, I'm building it up with this engine no questions asked.

I've had this motor for two years and I feel like an idiot.

The Bad News:
The first few months it ran like a charm!! Stock carb and it was purring like a kitten. Then came the bogging off idle. Then came the bogging on the top end. Then it wouldn't start for a year. I cleaned the carb more times than I can count and gave up on it...

The Good News:
A week ago I finally decided to get to the bottom of this and contacted Vince for some advice. He recommended the Mikuni VM26 carb and also the trc pipe and silencer combo. $270 dollars later and I've got massive ruts all across my front and back yard! I didn't "need" the pipe and silencer in the end. I bolted the vm26 carb on and first kicked she fired right up and idled for the first time in over a year! I'm keeping the exhaust because 1) it fits my frame much better than my previous exhaust 2) it looks sick! 3) it sounds sick!

....and to think I was just about to sell my bike for parts

I guess it began as a 110cc.. That lasted less than a week. I bought the 140 from piranha apparently and not tbolt, but they've been helpful the whole time. I've have tried a vm22,24,26. Legit ones. He difference immediately noticeable vm22 to 24. They always seems finicky but likely due to pretty big elevation changes. I have a 14 tooth through 19t front sprocket. Never ever satisfied until the second I took off with the 19 tooth on. My rear is a 35 or 37 not really sure. They're harder to change anyways. I did dremel a tiny bit of external case for my Renthal chain to roll free, however, bolt the sprocket down before you spin the dremel up and you might not even need to. Or get like a 29t rear :p.


I have a z40 cam I have zero desire to install. It already has way too much low end I'm not really looking for more. Still wheelies like crazy 1st and 2nd with the 19 tooth. 14" front 12" rear. 17"extended swing arm. It's been a great engine and I do day dream about a 190cc or something but I'm definitely satisfied and that's never happened when it's involved hp.

Great engine! Sales rep saved me from spending $500+ just upgrading my 49cc engine and suggested this engine setup. The price can't be beat, the engine runs amazing and has loads of power. A little bananas in a Z50R chassis but the power to weight ratio is insane!

This motor is amazing!!! I had a little trouble with getting it running right at first, because it didn't come with an exhaust gasket... which would have been nice to know when I ordered the motor. But anyways I put it in my bike and get it running right and I'm pulling power wheelies with a bald back tire in the dirt. This motor is so torquey, it'll go up just about any incline around me in 2nd gear, and I live in a hilly area. I'd recommend this motor to anyone looking for bolt in HP. I'm at sea level with a d section exhaust and I have the needle at 1 above the richest setting and the fuel screw at 2.5 turns out, I also got a NGK cr6hsa plug and it works perfect. Incase anyone was wondering. Worth every penny

Lots of Power- Lots of Power Wow....

Power will no longer be an issue for you or your pit bike. This engine delivers so much torque on the low end and continues to ramp up as you rev changing your complete riding style. Very impressed and satisfied. Best $ I have ever spent

Put this engine in a high end BBR frame instead of building up a CRF50 motor, and it was a great decision. Gear ratios are perfect, fires right up and runs strong. Got the 26mm carb upgrade and BBR D2 big bore pipe. Not overly loud with real good power.

I used this motor in a street legal '67 cl90 dirt/street tracker build. Using the stock lighting coil, external mounted oil cooler and VM26 mikuni carb.

It. rips. It is such a fun little screamer on the road. And the motor is flawlessly bulletproof. I have just under 5000 miles on the motor and have done ZERO motor work, not even a valve check. Only regular oil and filter changes.

A great motor. Great value. And really good reliability.

I put this engine in a 1982 atc70 3 wheeler and wow it scares me very fast and responsive engine only downfall is the carb but I found that a crf100f carb works wonders for this engine very powerful

Great engine with my Sach Madass motorcycle! Swap my madass 125 engine with the piranha 140 w/ mikuni 22. With a AssPipe exhaust and 39T rear 428...Wow, big difference in speed. Had to replace stock lights to LED and added yamaha universal headlight fairing (20W less than stock headlights) and a Piranha angled kick start. Using stock carb for now...Mikuni 22 Still need to tune it with jetting kit. Runs great!

I put that engine in my crf50. Wowww I love it!!!!
I got it with 26mm carb. Worth every penny. To install I need to lift my fuel tank, put spacers on my food pegs bar and change sprocket for 420 size. This engine rocks. If you don't have extendet swing arm you will have problem to ride on stock one. I will willing all the time :)))

this motor has great power i got the 26mm carb uprade. high quality had no issues bolted right into my xr70. very pleased with tbolt and there fast shipping good buy.

Just got done from a weekend of riding with this engine and the upgraded VM26 carb. I put the engine on a Xmotos rolling chassis that I bought. Despite my fitment issues due to my frame being a slight bit different then the typical SSR/Piranha/Pitster frame I got it installed and broke in with out any issues. After breaking it in all I can say is WOW! I went toe to toe with both my friends on there SSR140's and they never stood a chance. From a roll in 4th gear I could hang with my buddy on a KX125 until I just about tapped my bike out. If this thing had a 5th gear it would have been a real challenge for him to get away from me. I cannot say enough good things about this engine. 2nd gear rolls on pavement pulls the front tire right off the ground while sitting down.

Excellent Motor! My buddy and I swapped these into our street legal 1991 and 1994 Honda CT70's. Changed rear gear from 35 to 31 tooth. They do 60mph now. We have stock pipes and the 22mm carb that came with it though we had to change the main jet to 120 from the 95 that came in it. Needle in middle position no carb adjustments needed. They pull hard! I recommend oil coolers and ez-pull clutch levers. We swapped in the stock stators because the piranha lighting coil barely lit the headlight.

just bought this engine and it pulls hard threw all gears fast and easy install fired right up.

This motor is great, runs strong, lots of power to haul my 500 pound mini chopper around, toping out around 75- 80 Mph. A really respectable buy for the price with the 22mm carb. i bought the 140 Piranha exhaust, and oil cooler. Very Beast sounding!!! Just bought a 24mm carb for it

solid motor, smooth running, smooth shifting, smooth power, not too loud, good all around quality. sounds great with a cam and inner rotor!

I put this into an SSR frame. Fits well, and runs good. I have had it in there for about a about a week. Its a pretty fast engine, a good buy for sure. The carb that comes with it needs larger jets, also need to purchase a kill switch as its not included. I will update this review if I run into any problems with the engine.
