I wish I would have just bought this instead of trying to make what I had work better. I have a 1981 Honda XL80S I picked up and the previous owner threw away the OEM carb (ARGH!!!!) and put some cheap junk on it. It ran, but not well.

This carb feels like a solid part, way better built than any of the cheap knock offs on ebay/etc. Right out of the box my 80 liked it and idled almost perfect. Took just a minor adjustment on the idle screw. It runs and rides like a dream now. I did pick up the extra pilot and main jets. I may play with changing the main jet to see if I can increase initial throttle roll on response, we'll see. I hate to mess with it when it runs so nice now.

Customer service here is fantastic, I put my model number on my order, and they even contacted me to go over that they didn't know if it would work on my bike, if I wanted to proceed with my order. TBolt will be my go to place now for all my small bike needs. Super thrilled.

Hi Vince, Just a quick note to tell you thank you. I ordered the jetting kit from you for my TBparts 20mm carb and worked on it yesterday. The bike is dialed in now and runs great, thanks for the advice! The magic combination for me was a 90 main jet with 38 pilot jet, and the slide needle on the second notch from the top. Then the air screw at about 1 turn out from seated. There is zero bog and this bike runs great. Thanks for your help.

I have messed with my stock carb for two years and it was miserable.. put in this carb and it idles perfect. Starts easier and runs stronger!
