Put one on a 2001 XR70, its the perfect blend of power and fun for a kid. The bike has had stock 70cc, 88cc big bore(no felt difference from 70cc), 88cc with head/cam v2 (big step up but was blowing through stock semi auto clutch), yx160 (way too much for this bike, engine was is too twitchy and dangerous on trails), and now this piranha 125cc. This is the one that will live on it! Its my 12 yr olds bike and he is faster on it than our 160cc pit bike or our 65cc 2 strokes simply because he is so light. It also has an amazing exhaust tone with stock xr70 muffler.

This little this is pretty wicked. Not only does it rip me around but I've had some of my friends get on it that are over 300# and it hauls still. Put some good oil in it and get that nasty green Chinese transfer oil out. I put a fmf full exhaust along with having to re jet and just got a amr stage 3 rev box and it almost feels like my big bike. I have it mounted on a xtreme 110 frame and I'm gonna get a new 50 cal rearend for it and ill start racing this one. Maby winter project next year will b a new carb, head, and cams. But sick little engine though. U do need to tinker with it to open it up to its full potential.

I've already written one review for this engine. After a couple of months I'm still happy! Works great in my cub! If you go for this mod, keep in mind that you'll need to put a lower numeric gear on the rear or otherwise first will pretty much be a granny gear!

The engine almost always starts on the first kick. It's a six-volt so all the old cub lighting will work without modification. I thought it was 12 when I got it so I spent a little time wondering why my nice rectifier wasn't putting out any current. (face palm). TBolt has the correct rectifier available.

I can't say enough good about this engine! I'm eager to try the 140cc version on another project!

Nice engine! Good quality for price. Fit in my 1964 Super Cub with minimal frame mods. Old rocker shifter even fits! The intake is skewed slightly to left, so carb will fit in underbone frame, no need to turn it around backwards (though you can if you dig that look).

If someone made a clone of the Takegawa 5-speed super street trans for this engine, I'd buy it!
