Old School Back Yard Valve Leak Test

With the cylinder head off the engine:
1) Get a good size drain pan 
2) Obtain Simple green or Kerosene  
3)Pour Simple green or Kerosene  into you exhause port
Look for leak around the valve into the combustion chamber 
4)Pour Simple green or Kerosene  into you intake port
Look for leak around the valve into the combustion chamber 
Any solvent leaking buy and you need a valve job or you have bent valves
